DPS (Double page spread)

This is my DPS (double page spread) i also got the idea for this from NME magazine, however i did add in a few more images and based the text on a page from company that i researched. i did it in an interview form but also in colums like a newspaper, i like the chilled colours and how they blend nicely with the natural images.

Content for final product

This is my contents page, i am quite happy with the layout and how it has been presented but i think i could have been more creative with my photographs, as i feel they are quite boring and dont fit in with my genre as well as my old photo's did.

Indie Sound front cover - final product

This is my final cover, i used a similar layout to NME and wanted a fresh, modern, professional feel to it, i think the colours are simple and clean and work well with my magazine, i feel it is a big improvement from my pre-lim task and looks much better and of a higher standard, i chose a masthead and taglines that would attract my target audience and fit the genre i was going for, i am pleased with my finnished result as it is exactly how i wanted it to be.

Pre-lim task

This was my pre-lim task, my images were quite boring and not very eye catching and i feel like i used too many as it made the page look quite crowded and childish, also the chosen colours i found were too primary school like and not very secondary. i used to many bright, bold colours and there were no taglines to pull in the reader, i also think the masthead was quites a boring title and thinking about it now i could have done so much better. i think it was a good attempt as i had not done anything like this before and has helped me to get to the stage where i am at now.

Introduction

Hey bloggers, my name in Gemma Gerhard and i am creating a magazine called 'Indie Sound'. My magazine is focused on the Indie genre at a mixed audience aged from 18 to early 30's. i came up with the idea for my magazine by researching top music magazines and handing out questionaires. i saw a gap in the market for an all indie magazine, i chose to focus on indie music because from my research it is a popular style of music.
